I’m sorry I haven’t been reporting on all things Cadillac recently. Whereas I am no longer a Cadillac Product Specialist, I still receive emails daily for information, leasing and buying. One of my close friends is a Sales and Leasing Consultant for Jim Coleman Cadillac in Bethesda, Md. If you need anything… buying, leasing, servicing or even collision repair, contact him directly and tell him you read about him here. His name is Michael Jaffee. His phone number is (301) 841-6377 and his email is email@example.com
A lot of big things happening at Cadillac. This past April I went to the New York International Auto Show and saw the All-new Cadillac XTS in person and the all-new Cadillac ATS. Hot hot cars! The best part was to see the live demo of the all-new “CUE,” Cadillac’s touch-based, in-dash entertainment control system. It’s nice to see Cadillac making the technology leap.
The premise is simple: CUE — or “Cadillac User Experience” — builds on the growing adoption of smartphones and tablets in the market, focusing the in-car dashboard electronics system on an 8-inch touch-based LCD interface. Application menu screens are stripped-down, minimalistic and navigable by swipe, as if you were browsing through the different panes of an iPad strapped to your car’s dashboard.
DETROIT – Cadillac will offer on the 2011 CTS Sport Sedan and CTS Sport Wagon a new 19-inch all-season tire and wheel package that uses carbon fiber in the tire’s sidewall to provide responsive handling in a range of conditions. Previously, the 19-inch wheels were only available with summer tires on these models.

DETROIT – The resale value for the Cadillac CTS is projected to rise as the luxury brand adds the 2011 CTS Coupe to the line-up, according to the July/August estimates from ALG, an industry benchmark for residual values.
The higher projections are driven by lower incentives, tighter controls on inventory and an emphasis on design, as showcased in the all-new CTS Coupe.
The resale value for the 2011 CTS Sport Sedan after 36 months is projected to be 55 percent of the initial purchase price, about 9 percentage points higher than the projected resale value for the 2010 model, according to ALG. The projected resale value for the 2011 CTS Sport Wagon, compared to the 2010 model, also has risen about 9 percentage points to 54 percent of the initial purchase price. Lansing, Mich. – Cadillac’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant has begun production of the 2011 CTS Coupe and started shipping models to U.S. dealerships ahead of schedule. The all-new CTS Coupe has a starting price, including destination charges, of $38,990.
The CTS Coupe joins the CTS Sport Sedan and CTS Sport Wagon, an award-winning line that has been named to Car and Driver’s 10 Best list for three straight years. All three CTS models and the Cadillac STS sedan are made at Lansing Grand River Assembly.
Lansing Grand River Assembly team members spent months preparing for the launch of the CTS Coupe to ensure the highest levels of quality, said Plant Manager Scott Whybrew. Lansing Grand River Assembly topped all U.S. plants in the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Survey. The CTS ranked among the top 10 of all vehicles in the quality survey. DETROIT – Cadillac announced today it will provide owners of all 2011 models with frequently required maintenance services for the first four years or 50,000 miles as it seeks to build the best customer service experience in the luxury segment.

Sales up 493 percent, projected resale value up 17 percentage points
DETROIT – Since its debut last year, the all-new 2010 Cadillac SRX has posted the largest gains in its segment for both sales and projected resale value, establishing SRX as a leader among mid-size luxury crossovers.
SRX total U.S. sales through May have risen almost 500 percent, compared to the first five months of last year, outselling the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Audi Q7, BMW X5 and Acura MDX. The average transaction price for the new SRX is more than $2,300 higher than the previous model. Read the rest of this entry »
There was a time when General Motors was a design leader. Before the Aztek, before the Catera, before the Sunfire and before the Citation, GM was synonymous with bold, strong, emotional automotive design. The General was so good at it that in the 1950s it was able to flood dealerships and stress factories just by tweaking a given model’s sheetmetal a few shades. Imagine anyone caring about a new rear end on a 2011 Chevy Malibu. Yet the revised bodywork of the 1956 Bel Air was a major cultural phenomenon. Read the rest of this entry »
Pricing for the Cadillac CTS Coupe and it’s V-equipped sibling has leaked out, and the standard two-door is priced at $38,990 while the 556-horsepower, 6.2-liter V8 version reportedly comes in at $62,990. Read the rest of this entry »
We have no idea how it’ll fare when it goes on sale, but we enjoy imagining the day when we start seeing the CTS-V Sport Wagon on the streets. Since that’s still a ways off, for now we’ll be happy getting our next fix from Cadillac Design Director Clay Dean, who takes us on a walk around the hottest wagon that isn’t named “E63.” Perhaps the most useful thing about it is that it gives us other features to talk about besides the engine – not that we’ll ever really talk about them, but at least we know they’re there.
